Chichén Itzá is a world-famous complex of Mayan ruins on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. A massive step pyramid known as El Castillo dominates the 6.5-sq.-km. ancient city, which thrived from around 600 A.D. to the 1200s.
In the years following World War II, the adjacent scrapyard began to purchase scores of outdated vessels, with the intention of harvesting them for anything of value. Aesthetically I found this place compelling, relics of our species’ industrial past left to decay in peace.
Church was a student of Thomas Cole, who is regarded as the founder of the Hudson River School, the first truly American style of landscape painting. Built on a hill in Hudson, Church’s Olana offers sweeping views of the Catskill Mountains, the Hudson River and the Taconic Hills.
Lincoln memorial- Washington D.C. As an American I think everyone should see our Nations Capital at least once in their lives if they can.
This cathedral located in the Mexican town of Valladolid, is a very important location historically. It was here, inside these gates, that the Maya rebelled, beginning what would be known as the Caste Wars that reverberated through the Yucatan.
